The Carleton Place Minor Hockey Association will be accepting registrations for house league players across all divisions — U7 through U21. Whether your child is brand new to the game or returning for their tenth season, we're ready to have them on the ice.
Player Registration Fees Held Flat for 2026–27 — Goalie Fees Reduced
Registration fees are unchanged from last season across every division — and goalie registration fees have been reduced as part of our effort to support and grow this valuable position within CPMHA.
Holding fees flat while delivering the same quality season takes real work behind the scenes. This year, CPMHA is bringing all player evaluations and skills development in-house, replacing third-party providers with experienced volunteers from inside our own community — long-time coaches, former competitive players, goalie mentors, and skills specialists who know Carleton Place hockey.
That shift in how we operate is what makes flat fees possible, and we think it also makes the program better.

Your child's birth year doesn't appear above? Contact the Registrar — U7 also accepts 2022 births (ages 4+), and overage placement requests are handled individually.
We know hockey is a meaningful family expense. To make the season easier to plan around, we're offering two payment options:
A single payment at registration. Simplest if it works for your household.

If you have moved within the CPMHA boundaries (aren't sure? Check here), and your child has played hockey in another association, please proceed with a transfer request based on your personal scenario.
SCENARIO 1: Moves to the CPMHA boundaries
Players who move to Carleton Place, but who have played with another association, must submit the following:
SCENARIO 2: Players who live outside the boundaries of CPMHA but within District 4 and wish to play with CPMHA.
Players who wish to play for CPMHA but live outside the boundaries need to complete a House League Transfer Form (Link).
This is a year by year transfer form. The reasoning needs to be justified, and there is no guarantee the transfer will be approved from either association.
Please email all documents to registrar@cpmha.ca.
*Please note that registration cannot be processed until the registrar receives all correctly complete documents.
New to hockey? Then you are in the right place. Here you will find all the information you need to register your child in the CPMHA. If you are a player transferring from another association, please refer to the TRANSFERRING PLAYERS section above.
Hockey Canada is strict about playing in your own neighbourhood. Please check and ensure you are registering with the right association using the Hockey Eastern Ontario Minor Address Lookup Tool: http://maps.hockeyeasternontario.ca/
STEP 1: Download and complete the ***New Player Request Form***
This form needs to be accompanied by the following documents:
Proof of age (copy of birth certificate)
Proof of residency
STEP 2: Email all paperwork to registrar@cpmha.ca
*Once the above has been verified by the registrar, a Hockey Canada # will be provided to you.
STEP 3: Once you receive your Hockey Canada # from the registrar, you can proceed with online registration.
| **IMPORTANT** Players who are expelled or suspended are not entitled to a refund. Monthly plan holders who withdraw have future scheduled payments cancelled at the same refund cut-off point. |

CPMHA runs on volunteers. Every coach, manager, trainer, and on-ice helper is a parent or community member who said yes.
Coaches — apply at the CPMHA Coach Application Form
All other volunteer roles, indicate your interest during registration. We'll follow up.
All volunteers with player contact are subject to a current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) every three years under our Constitution and HEO Policy 6.6. Start early — VSCs can take several weeks.
What you get for your registrationAcross every division, your CPMHA registration covers: Full season of hockey — practices, league games, and playoffs where applicable. Player evaluations and sortouts — run internally by experienced, qualified CPMHA volunteers who know the program and care about fair, thoughtful team placement. All HEO and Hockey Canada insurance — required participation fees built in. Trainer/safety coverage — every team rostered with a certified trainer. Ice time — practices and games at the Carleton Place Arena and partner facilities within D4. Coach Mentor program — your child's coach is supported all season by our association-wide Coach Mentor, meaning better coaching at every level. |
| Division formats at a glance | |
|---|---|
| Division | Format |
U7 | Cross-ice — development focus, fun and fundamentals |
U9 | Half-ice, 4-on-4 to start - fast, fun, and skill-focused, with players transitioning to full-ice hockey mid-season as the gateway to the next stage of the game |
U11 | Full ice — the gateway to "real" hockey, learning to train |
U13 | Full ice — skills meet systems, compete starts to matter |
U15 | Full ice — game IQ and two-way play come into focus |
U18 | Full ice — mature game, leadership opportunities |
U21 | Full ice — adult game, subject to sufficient registration |
| **Goaltenders** Goalies at U11 and above register at the goalie rate and receive position-specific development support. At U7 and U9, all players rotate through positions (including goaltender) per HEO program policy — there is no separate goalie registration at those levels. | |
Equal Ice Time — ALWAYS CPMHA holds firm to a principle we don't apologize for: if a player pays, a player plays. Every house league coach is required to give every player on their roster equal ice time, regardless of skill level. This is written into our Constitution and enforced by the Executive. Your child gets the same shifts as the strongest skater on the team. |
